Thin wool in rugs

An advantage of using a thin wool is that by threading several lengths at once through the needle's eye it can usually take the place of a thicker wool quite successfully.

On the other hand, it is laborious to untwist one or more of the closely twisted plies of a thick wool in order to obtain a thinner one, and this procedure is anyhow most inadvisable.

Various materials are employed in rug making. Read more on that and other aspects of rug making on the pages of our rug oriented site.
