Bundles of mixed thrums can be bought at varying prices according to whether the lengths of the wool in the bundles are long, medium or short. At the time of writing, 1967, 6, a Ib. is an average price for long lengths.
Wool bought by the hank in one colour is naturally more expensive, and it is a good and economical plan to order a quantity of one or two main colours plus some mixed thrums, which combination can produce excellent results.
Some firms will send a selection of wool in several shades of one colour which can be most useful, especially for backgrounds.
